1. The applicant must be a Resident of Punjab or Chandigarh as defined by Govt. or has been residing in Punjab for the last 5 years and must be at least 18 years old on the last date of submission of the application.

2. Those who own or were allotted at any time by a government agency a
residential plot fully on lease hold or free hold basis in any of the Urban Estates developed by GMADA ,PUDA, Housefed or any other Government Agency or in Cooperative Societies to whom land was allotted by any of the government agencies in SAS Nagar (Mohali) Subdivision or Chandigarh or Panchkula in own / spouse / minor children’s name are not eligible to apply.
3. Regular employees of Government of Punjab or its undertakings and Punjab & Haryana High Court are eligible. Adhoc, contractual, temporary or reemployed employees cannot apply under this category.

4. NRIs / PIOs / OCIs from the State of Punjab and Chandigarh (Must check GOI and RBI rules on mode of payment etc).They will be considered under the General Category.

5. The eligibility regarding reservation shall be determined as on the last date for the submission of applications under this scheme.

6. The applicant must not have availed benefit of allotment of plot/ house/ flat under any reserved category in any scheme of any Government agency anywhere in the country.

Eco City: GMADA eases payment schedule for plots

In order to ensure that only end users apply for the plots in the upcoming Eco City in Mullanpur, Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) has approved changes in the payment schedule.

GMADA during the meeting of the executive committee on Monday had proposed to do away with the practice of making payment of the plots in six half-yearly instalments.

There was a need to review this decision, as there could not be two different modes of payment schedule, informed an official on condition of anonymity.

So, as per the decision taken on Friday with regards to the payment schedule, now applicants will be allowed to pay in six instalments spread over a period of two years.

Elaborating the new payment schedule, a senior official said, As per the decision now, the applicant will have to pay 10% of the plots cost as earnest money while applying for the plot. Another 20% will be paid within 30 days of issuing of letter of intent to successful applicants. The successful applicant will pay 65% of the amount in six instalments spread over a period of two years and the remaining 5% will be paid at the time of possession.

Earlier, GMADA had proposed an applicant would pay 10% earnest money with the application and the rest of the amount would be paid within three months.

GMADA will offer freehold residential plots of various sizes in Mullanpur, located 7 km from PGI.

The Mullanpur Urban Estate Phase 1 project, now named as Eco City, which was formally cleared on Monday, offers about 740 plots, of which 41% have been placed under the reserved categories.

From the initial 2,074 plots, the number of plots ranging between 100 square yard and 500 square yard has been reduced to 740, as major chunk of the plots have been given to landowners who had opted for the land-pooling scheme.

GMADA has already finalised 12 banks where the applicants can deposit earnest money while applying for the plots in the upcoming Eco City in Mullanpur.

GMADA has also decided that not just the residents of Punjab and Chandigarh be allowed to apply for the scheme but the scheme would also be open to the employees of the Punjab and Haryana high court.

Eco City: GMADA finalises 12 banks

Applicants can deposit earnest money in nearly 500 branches; will provide loans as well GMADA HAS DONE AWAY WITH SIX-HALF YEARLY INSTALMENTS AND HAS DECIDED THAT 95% COST OF A PLOT WILL BE PAID WITHIN 3 MONTHS

The Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) has finalised 12 banks where the applicants can deposit earnest money while applying for plots in the upcoming Eco City in Mullanpur.

To minimise the inconvenience to applicants eager to apply for the plots, GMADA has authorised 12 banks, giving them the choice to deposit earnest money in about 500 branches of these banks. These banks would also provide finance to applicants willing to take loan. To decrease the interface among GMADA officials and the public, GMADA has decided to adopt the system of inviting online applications for the upcoming Mullanpur Urban Estate. According to the decision, applicants on the basis of computer-generated application forms, will be able to deposit earnest money with banks.

The banks enlisted by GMADA are State bank of India, State Bank of Patiala, Union Bank of India, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Punjab National Bank, Bank of Baroda, HDFC bank, ICICI bank, Kotak Bank, Axis Bank, Gramin Bank and Co-operative Bank.

GMADA has also decided that not just residents of Punjab and Chandigarh will be allowed to apply for the scheme but it would also be open to the employees of the Punjab and Haryana high court. The scheme would be floated on September 21 with draw of plots slated for November 30.

Learning from past experience, GMADA has done away with the six half-yearly instalments and has decided that 95% cost of a plot would be paid within three months. Under the scheme, a person would be paying 10% earnest money with the application and the rest of the amount would be paid within three months.

GMADA to launch Eco City on September 21

Changes eligibility criterion and payment schedule; Chandigarh and Punjab residents can apply for the housing scheme

Putting an end to the wait by people who are eager to buy a house, the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) will launch its Mullanpur Urban Estate Phase 1 project from September 21. Chandigarh residents can also apply for the scheme.

The decision in this regard was taken during the executive committee meeting of GMADA, headed by the chief secretary, on Monday. The committee has also decided to name the project as Eco City, for which the draw of plots will be held on November 30.

With a majority of landowners whose land was acquired for the project opting for land pooling, the number of plots ranging between 100 sq yd (4 marla) and 500 sq yd (1 kanal) has been reduced from 2,074 to 740.

Having learnt lessons from the Aerocity project, where most of the applicants were from outside Punjab, GMADA has made changes in the eligibility criterion and the payment schedule. For Eco City, only bonafide residents of Punjab and Chandigarh can apply.

To ensure that outsiders dont apply this time, we have decided that the applicants would have to attach three selfattested proofs of identity. The person should be residing in Punjab and Chandigarh for the past five years and the identity proofs should show that, said GMADA land acquisition officer Hargunjeet Kaur.

The people who own property or have plots in Sectors 76 to 80 and Aerocity are not eligible to apply for the Mullanpur Urban Estate.

Having faced inconvenience in dealing with lakhs of applications for plots in Aerocity housing project, GMADA has decided to accept online applications for the residental plots being offered at Mullanpur to facilitate applicants. On the basis of computer-generated application forms, applicants will be able to deposit the earnest money with banks. To ensure that only end-users apply for the plots, GMADA has done away with the six halfyearly instalments. GMADA has decided that 10% earnest money will be paid with the application and 90% of the cost of the plot would be paid within three months from the date of issuing of the Letter of Intent.

A year after the Aerocity draw, Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) is set to launch its second residential urban estate -at Mullanpur, adjoining Chandigarh -in midSeptember. The allotments will be through draw of lots.

About 800 plots of various sizes will be offered 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 and 1,000 square yards. Plots of 100 and 200 square yards will be offered at Rs 17,000 per square yard, 300 and 400 square yards at Rs 18,000, and 500 and 1000 square yards at Rs 19,000 per square yard.

In the Aerocity scheme, GMADA offered plots at a rate of Rs 12,000 per square yard.
Ten banks, whose services were found satisfactory in the Aerocity draw last year, have been given charge of the new scheme.

Sarvjit Singh, chief administrator, GMADA, said, The scheme is likely to be launched on September 15 or 16. We are holding an executive committee meeting on September 12 to finalise modalities.

Unlike the open for all Aerocity scheme, GMADA has decided that only residents of Punjab and Chandigarh can apply for Mullanpur plots.

Another senior official of GMADA said, We have reserved plots under various categories -Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes (15%), handicapped/blind (3%), freedom fighters (2%), serving/retired defence personnel (4%), disabled soldiers (1%), gallantry awardees (2%), legal heirs of army/paramilitary/Punjab police personnel killed in action (2%) and sports medal winners (2%).

He said applicant would initially be required to pay 10% earnest money with application forms, which would be refunded within three months from the date of draw in case of unsuccessful applications. We will give possession of plots within two-and-a-half years from allotment; 5% extra will be charged for corner plots and those facing parks, and corner plots facing parks will cost 10% more, he added.

GMADA to offer residential plots at Mullanpur

High on the success of Aerocity, Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) is all set to float a scheme for freehold residential plots in phase-I of its Urban Estate at Mullanpur.

In addition, GMADA has also set aside 125 acres for Medicity, a hub of the finest services in hospital care, to encourage medical tourism potential in the region.

Phase-I of Mullanpur will cover 400 acres approximately offering 2,800 plots, and will comprise two sectors. Urban Estate phase-I is at a distance of near 7 kilometers from PGI.

Medicity, located a little ahead of phase-I on the opposite side of the road going from PGI to Mullanpur, is about 8 kms from PGI.

Price of the plots to be offered in this prized residential destination, very close to Chandigarh, will be about 30 per cent higher than the price charged by GMADA for plots in Aerocity.
